Pan fried breaded mushrooms

These crunchy breaded mushrooms can be prepared without a deep fat fryer. They’re tasty, meaty and full of protein and served with a salad make a good meal.

Cooking time: 10 minutes

In Brief

  • Heat a slice of bread in the oven
  • Fry portobello mushrooms
  • Blend bread with Oregano, Paprika and Safron to make breadcrumbs
  • Toss mushrooms in the breadcrumbs and serve immediately.

Instructions 

Put a slice of bread in the oven at maximum temperature and cook it till it’s hard but not brown.

Meanwhile fry some portobello mushrooms in a little olive oil.

When the bread is hard, put it in a blender with oregano, saffron and paprika to make breadcrumbs.

Toss the mushrooms in the breadcrumb mixture until they stick. Serve immediately
